Yes bay Lodge Fishing Report - September 5th, 2009

Saturday September 5th, 2009 – Fishing Report

Tough day of fishing today with some windy weather, waves and bad current which all made the salmon fishing a little tough, but everyone worked through it and managed a nice catch on the dock. Plenty of real nice silvers including some larger ones, up to over 16 pounds and 1 nice King salmon as well!

A small halibut and some rock fish rounded out the catch today.

Yes bay Lodge Fishing Report - September 4th, 2009

Friday September 4th, 2009 – Fishing Report

The Lodge slowed down a little for the day with a large group leaving this morning and another group arriving this afternoon. The group leaving left with nearly a thousand pounds of fish so they were really happy! Today only two boats fished and they did well with plenty of nice silver salmon and a small halibut rounded out the catch today. Everyone fishing again tomorrow, as the Lodge is full again tonight with 19 people arriving this afternoon.

Beautiful weather this afternoon although this morning was a little windy and rainy, we’ll hope for a continuation of this afternoon for tomorrow…

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - September 3rd, 2009

Thursday September 3rd, 2009 – Fishing Report

Weather change today, barometer dropped like a rock, cloudy and overcast with a few sprinkles of rain, but overall still a nice day, however the silver salmon bite slowed way down for some reason, still a decent haul but it was harder work to get a limit and most gave up and searched for other fish before hitting their limit! Some real nice Kings hit the dock today including one over 30 pounds and another 18 pounder, plus a nice 22 pounder.

Big yellow eye and some nice rock bass and a few small halibuts rounded out the day. Oh also there was one HOOKED guide, the fish won that battle, but after a little surgical work he was back out fishing this afternoon…we’ll have to see if “Batman”, now Captain Hookie will write about this his latest Alaska Experience!!

Enjoy the pictures,

Wednesday September 2nd, 2009 – Fishing Report

Another beautiful day of fishing although it got a little breezy this afternoon for a bumpy ride back to the Lodge, although, not too bumpy since most boats were full of fish! Plenty of beautiful silver salmons with many over 15 pounds, a nice King Salmon a few bright chums and some real nice halibut today, including 2 over 70 pounds. There was also a great assortment of rockfish to go along with the rest of the catch.

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - September 1st, 2009

Tuesday September 1st, 2009 – Fishing Report

Foggy morning this morning but a beautiful clear and sunny day with a continuation of HOT fishing. The silver bite was slow and steady for most of the morning, with most boats getting their limit, then the afternoon produced a great mix of fish, including a big yellow eye snapper, a bunch of rock fish and sea bass and a few halibut.

The silvers seemed a little larger today with a couple 15 plus pounders hitting the dock.
