Long Swim

Friday – June 26, 2009

Add Image

Today while out fishing we came across an Eagle who attempted to land a fish just a little too big! So he had to swim it to shore! Managed to get one picture that was halfway decent, hard to tell but this Eagle had quite a swim to get the fish to shore, which he finally did, then proceeded to enjoy a good meal of fresh King salmon!

Enjoy,

Fish Report June 25th 2009

Fishing Report – Thursday June 25th, 2009

The day started out real slow for most boats – the tide was not cooperating and the bite was rare for Kings. Only one of our boats managed to get 2 Kings before lunch today! After lunch the fishing got better as the tide changed and later in the afternoon the bite was on, with several nice Kings landed and several did some catch and release fishing!

Big Kings are starting to arrive, hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate and the fish will bite on the tides tomorrow!

Good Fishing at Yes Bay Lodge!!

June 24th Fishing Report

Wednesday June 24th

Decent day of fishing today – the Kings were a little harder to find today, but most boats managed to find some and there was also a couple Chum salmon and several boat managed some Halibut. One of my guests caught a real nice Ling Cod, sadly it was not of legal size so it had to go back to grow a little more!

Enjoy the pictures,

Fishing Report for June 22nd and 23rd, 2009

Monday June 22nd Fishing Report

Monday was a slower day for Kings – although by the time the day ended everyone seemed to have their limit. Still managed to pick up a few assorted species of Chum and a Pink as well.

Tuesday June 23rd Fishing Report

Today brought in most everyone a limit of Kings as well as a couple Chums. A couple big fish also hit the docks with my group (Professor) landing a nice 29 pound plus King and a smaller one as well as a couple nice small halibut. This morning several larger Halibut were brought in including a nice 64 pounder! Another great day of fishing at Yes Bay Lodge in wonderful rainy SE Alaska!

Oh, by the way – It rained ALL DAY today!!

Enjoy the pictures!!

Fishing Report 6-20-2009

Fishing report – Saturday June 20th, 2009

The Kings are here!! Most boats went out today and everyone managed to get their limit of Kings! Kicker also managed three Chums and a pink salmon which is awful early this year!! Kicker also stopped at the spot where I lost a very big halibut yesterday and had the same thing happen to his guest! This is a very big halibut, we are going to have to go after him again tomorrow!! Seems we are going to have an abundant run of salmon all season!

Blackfly (Kevin Hack – Lodge owner) even got up early and was out fishing with guests today!! Limit on Kings and even drug in a nice halibut this afternoon!

All in all a very good day of fishing, weather was OK, rainy but a little wind this afternoon which made for a bumpy ride back in!
