Wednesday August 26^th, Fishing Report

Four boats out fishing today and it was a beautiful day, much calmer weather and some sunshine in the afternoon – a beautiful day in Yes Bay. The fishing proved to be pretty good today with a nice assortment of fish hitting the dock. Several crew boats fished as well and they did pretty good also. One nice 14 pound King came in this afternoon and a bunch of nice silvers, a couple nice bright chum salmon and a pink or two. Bottom fishing was not bad with a nice small 15 pound halibut on the dock and the story of the big one that got away. A couple pacific cod and a few rock fish rounded out the catch.

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - August 25th, 2009

Tuesday August 25^th, 2009 – Fishing Report

Bad weather dominated today with lots of wind and rain, so it had an effect on the fishing. This morning was real slow but things got better in the afternoon A real nice 15 pound silver hit the dock as well as a real bright chum and an assortment of others,

Monday August 24^th, 2009 – Fishing Report

Huge changeover today at the Lodge with all guests leaving and only 4 arriving and fishing today. The bite seemed to sweeten a little today with some nice salmon hitting the dock in spite of windy and cold rainy weather today.

More boats fishing tomorrow, hopefully the weather will get a little better and the fishing will continue to get better with more silvers.

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - August 23rd, 2009

Sunday August 23^rd, 2009 – Fishing Report

The fishing had a few twists today…the little guys beat the big guys! The morning was a little slow for salmon fishing, but some nice fish came in to the dock, while everyone was hanging fish a taking pictures, the radio crackled from one of our boats who was at the mouth of Yes Bay fishing for rock fish with a couple of our young guests…you guessed it, major halibut hooks on to a salmon rod with 20 pound test line!! We will be a little late coming in!! After a long struggle,. Several up and downs they managed to get it in the boat and head for the dock…lo and behold it weighed in at 97 plus pounds, way more than the little guy who hooked it and more than his partner who helped him reel it up…several times!! Great adventure!!

The afternoon was just plain slow fishing, the extreme tides and a bunch of wind limited where we could fish and probably drove the fish down deep to stay out of the strong current. A couple boats managed a few salmon and a couple nice small halibut hit the dock…

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - Saturday August 22nd, 2009

Saturday August 22^nd, 2009 – Fishing Report

Today was a different day of fishing with most boats out this morning and we did fairly well with most boats catching some real nice silver salmon a few bright chum and a couple pinks.

The afternoon was expedition time with a large group of people heading for a hike to the hot springs at Lake Shelokum and Bailey Bay and a couple boats went fishing with a couple halibut and some nice rockfish hitting the dock as well as a few salmon and one other expedition boat managed to land a real nice Ling Cod, see the pictures.

Yes bay Lodge Fishing Report - August 21st, 2009

Friday August 21st, 2009 - Fishing Report

Rainy morning but calm winds and flat seas, beautiful day for fishing, won't
say the fishing was fast and furious in the morning, but we managed a bunch
of fish on the dock and a real good assortment. Some real nice silvers,
bright chum and a couple pinks.

The afternoon most boats tried for some Kings and one boat was rewarded with
a nice 16 pounder. Lots of halibut jigging going on, but they only managed a
couple nice yellow eye snapper and a small flounder. One boat continued for
silvers and managed four real nice ones, although the bite was slower in the
afternoon than in the morning...you really had to work for the fish you got
today, those who stuck with it managed some nice fish.

Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - August 20th, 2009

Thursday August 20^th – Fishing Report

Most boats only fished in the afternoon today, a large group arrived this morning with an afternoon of planned fishing, little bit of a late start, but the fish cooperated for most albeit a little slowly, but some more silvers, some bright chum and a few pinks hit the dock as well as one real nice bright 18.5 pound King Salmon and a couple small rockfish.

More fishing with all boats out tomorrow, nice rainy afternoon which should keep the fish moving our way, so hopefully we will be able to start seeing some bigger silvers soon.

Beautiful sunny and warm day today with some pretty good fishing and a nice assortment of fish on the dock today, a nice King, big yellow eye and a halibut along with a nice assortment of silvers.
