June 22nd, 2011 Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Today things slowed down around the lodge with it being a turn-over day. Only three boats fished with guests and they had a good day of fishing with several getting limits. Large group arrived tonight so the Lodge is FULL for the first time this season and will stay nearly full for the next several weeks. Everyone is looking forward to some great fishing. Kings are still around and some nice bright Chum have moved into Neets Bay, several netters were down there today and plenty of commercial trollers as well as the processing barge so salmon season is now in full swing.

The forecast calls for a record run of pinks and chum this season and we have already landed some really nice big Kings with more to come....

On with today's pictures..the Zublin/IKHANA Party fished a half day this morning before departing this afternoon.

Here's their catch a limit 2 nice Kings, 2 halibut a nice yellow eye and a few rockfish...

Crew Halibut - June 22nd, 2011

Some crew went out today intent on catching a big halibut - New crew members all Florida boys and wanted a big fish and they hit a nice one.

105.5 pounds...

Lodge Rule - any guide catching a halibut over 100 pounds goes swimming, either by choice or we throw them in...both these guys were more than happy to oblige!!

And happy about it...

The rules are such this year (Thanks to our Federal Government) that our Guides cannot catch any halibut over 37 inches with guests on board, but when they do NOT have paying guests on board they are only limited by the one halibut per person rule with NO size restrictions...so this is legal!!
