More Hummers!

I think I may have become addicted to try and get some good pictures of the hummingbirds here at Yes Bay.

Here are a couple I took this evening…

Enjoy,

July 6th Fishing Report - Yes Bay Lodge

Monday July 6th, 2009 - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

The weather continued to be nice and warm and sunny this morning, then the wind picked up this afternoon and limited the areas we could fish, so the catch was a little slower this afternoon, but it was hot almost everywhere this morning. Most went for salmon – we boated a nice King this morning in my group and several chum and a couple pinks.

Good bite! One boat brought in a nice small “chicken” halibut, but the halibut fishing struck out this afternoon!!

July 5th - Fishing Report

Sunday – July 5th – 2009 – Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

The weather continues to be beautiful – in fact it was downright hot today – measured temperature of 84 degrees!! Wait, this is supposed to be Alaska!!

Anyway the fishing was as hot as the weather – with all the pinks and bright chum you could catch and a ton of shaker Kings, but the big Kings continue to elude us. Thank goodness my guests had their 1 fish annual limit of Kings the first day, so it was gather all the pinks and chums and silvers that we could. Then spend the afternoon bottom fishing. Managed three nice yellow eye snapper (red snapper) and some beautiful sea bass, but no halibut today.

Great day of fishing and weather – enjoy the pictures…

July 4th, 2009 - Fishing Report

Fishing Report – Saturday July 4th, 2009

Happy 4th of July from Yes Bay Lodge!!

Today was a fantastic day of fishing and the weather was perfect. Bright blue skies and sunshine although a little warm!

The salmon fishing was very steady all day with all the pink and chum salmon you could want, but the Kings just weren’t around – except “shaker” – undersized Kings!

Several halibut and some real nice yelloweye snapper were brought in by several boats. All in all another GREAT day at Yes Bay Lodge!!

Enjoy the pictures and please take a moment and remember the true meaning of July 4th!

We will be having a fireworks display at the Lodge this evening and we enjoyed a wonderful BBQ dinner!!

July 3rd - 2009 - Fishing Report

Friday – July 3rd, 2009 – Fishing Report

Today was a fantastic day of fishing at Yes Bay Lodge – The bite started early at about 7:30 am this morning and stayed steady well into lunch time, with multiple hookups of large Chum Salmon, King Salmon a spattering of Silver Salmon and some really nice Pink Salmon as well…unusual to get 4 out of the 5 species of salmon in one outing and for the most part in the same location!!

The weather cooperated as well…it was calm, bright sunny and maybe a little too warm – had to be 75 degrees today!

Enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the fishing!!

July 2nd Fishing Report

Thursday July 2nd 2009 – Fishing Report

Great weather again today, although we did get a little wind this afternoon, but otherwise it was a blue skies and sunny day most of the day today!

Fishing continues to be strong – with limits of Pink salmon available to anyone who wants them. Kings were around as well, especially some big ones! Nobody really spent much time fishing for halibut today so none hit the dock, but there were plenty of salmon, including a couple of nice bright Chums and a couple Silvers also some rockfish.

All in all a wonderful day fishing at Yes Bay Lodge in beautiful SE Alaska!

July 1, 2009 - Fishing Report!

Wednesday July 1st, 2009 – Fishing Report from Yes bay Lodge!

The weather improved dramatically today with little or no wind, calm seas and very little rain, in spite of the improved conditions, the fishing for King Salmon slowed quite a bit from the previous few days. Several of our boats managed some nice Kings, but hardly any people got their limit. Pink salmon were in abundance and you could have all of those that you wanted.

With the improved conditions, several of our favorite halibut holes were finally accessible and several boats caught their limit. No real big ones, but some nice ones…

Enjoy the pictures of another great day of fishing at Yes Bay Lodge in SE Alaska!
