August 12th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Weather change seemed to help fishing, at least in the morning although those who stuck with it managed a nice catch all day. Decent weather today with no real rain and the wind stayed down all day as well. More guests so more boats fishing, more pictures today so lets get to the photos...

August 11th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

WOW - What a change today was....we all knew the weather was going to change and boy did it...rain started last night and continued through most of today, heavy at times. But we didn't expect a huge wind shift and some hard winds this morning which created some real tough fishing...but the Yes Bay Guides prevailed and everyone stuck it out, found a place to hide from most of the wind and managed to get some nice fish to the dock...

August 10th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Another beautiful day today but the wind came up this afternoon and limited a few of our favorite fishing spots...but for the hardy and diligent soles the fishing was pretty good. Several boats struggled to find the salmon or bottom fish they hoped for but everyone caught some nice fish....

Little rain this evening, looks like we are in for a weather change, we'll see what tomorrow brings...

We also landed and released a real nice 50-60 pound halibut and had a great big one on for a while, but he managed to break the 80 pound leader...

August 9th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Another picture post card day today with bright warm sunny skies and very little wind for most of the day...the fishing was pretty darn good in the morning, but the salmon bite slowed way down in the afternoon...stay at it long enough and you were rewarded but it was slow...bottom fishing was pretty good for most boats with good halibut and rock fish....

August 8th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Beautiful weather day again today....calm all morning periods of bright sunshine then a few clouds and some wind in the afternoon, but not bad. Salmon fishing was NOT fast and furious, but there were fish caught...we managed a few pinks and a nice bright small silver...and some bottom fish. Spent the afternoon chasing bottom fish looking for a yellow eye or a nice halibut...to no avail!

Here are the pics from today...2 boats out, more guests arrived tonight. Several decided to hike up the river and fish...it was productive.

August 7th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

The weather could not have been better today, fishing was slow at times, but still productive...but clear bright sunny with blue skies and very little wind made for a great day on the water....

Good pictures tell the story...I know it is difficult to look past the fish, but check out the sky and sunshine...

August 6th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Weather stayed nice today with cloudy conditions with some sunshine from time to time, but the wind stayed down for the better part of the day and it was calm and beautiful fishing and the fish were still biting, with lots of nice salmon hitting the dock today as well as some halibut and some nice yellow eye and rockfish.

August 5th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Better weather today a little light rain and calm winds and fairly warm temperatures and some good fishing.

Only 2 boats out fishing today, new guests arriving this afternoon. Only got pics from one, Kickers boat and they had a good day....

August 4th - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Rain and more rain and the fish were biting pretty good. 4 boats out today plus 2 boats this morning with InnerSeas Discovery people for 1/2 day charters all caught fish, no pics from the InnerSea people today as they can't keep their fish, since they are on a small cruise ship, so no pics for them, but they had a good day and the Bermitz Family is up visiting Snapper Al and daughter Samantha (crew) and they hard targeted halibut today and had a great day of catching, only spent a few minutes on salmon fishing and still managed a nice Chum...the other boats all caught a bunch of salmon and had a good day, in spite of the rain...and it did rain all day, hard late in the afternoon, but light for the majority of the day, but steady..

No there is nothing wrong with your eyes - it is our camera girl and the inability to understand that rain drops on the lens are not good...

August 3rd - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Beautiful clear skies and warm sunny day, flat calm this morning but we had some wind this afternoon which limited where you could fish a little bit, but with the tide change the bite stopped pretty much anyway...but there were still plenty of fish for the three boats that fished today...

August 2nd - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Two boats out fishing today and the weather could not have been better, blue skies, sunshine and calm winds - flat calm most of the day and warm...

The fishing stayed hot as well, with plenty of nice pink and chum and a few silvers hitting the docks, add in a couple halibut and some nice rock fish this afternoon and it was a good day of fishing...more guests arrived today and more coming tomorrow, so we will be back at full swing in a few days!!

August 1st - Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report

Yesterday was a much needed day off for the crew, no fishing to speak of, it was clean boats, clean and fix equipment and get ready for the next part of the season. We have a short respite from now until about the 10th with limited number of guests, then full blast through silver season with the Lodge basically full until the end...so everyone is enjoying some time off, going to town, getting things squared away...

Today just one boat was out with guests...tomorrow there will be a couple more.
