August 10th - Fishing Report

The weather cooperated today with calm winds and a little light rain on and off, but mostly off. The fishing slowed a little as well, with less pink salmon around and the King bite was off, although only a couple boats fished for them.

Still a decent bunch of fish hit the dock with two large groups arriving today a bunch more fishing will be done tomorrow!

Pictures of today's catch!

Snapper Al and family were back out looking for flat fish and found a few nice ones!

And one of the happy couple celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary!

Congratulations Al and Tina from everyone here at the Bay!

August 8th - Fishing Report

We had a weather change today although the forecast was wrong, how surprising...the forecast said rain and wind in the early afternoon. Well we had some wind this morning, then it calmed down for most of the day but it did rain pretty much all day. But the wind came up pretty good this afternoon and it poured down rain, the ride in was an adventure!

But it was a ride in with fish! Great assortment today and we are starting to see some more silvers which is a nice surprise...

Pictures - Every one tells a story!

Every once in awhile a crew story comes along that needs to be shared...Batman and Slammer were out the other day halibut fishing and Slammer hooks into one and starts to reel it up...when all of a sudden he puts the rod in the holder and pulls his cooler over and sits down while he reels up this monster 8 pound halibut!

Of course you have to understand we watch guests struggle all the time reeling a larger fish up from 300 feet plus, but I can't think of one time in my six years where a guide has had to put the rod in the holder for any size halibut, let alone a huge 8 pounder! Go Slammer - you broke the record!

August 7th - Fishing Report

Fantastic day again today with perfect weather, fog and calm this morning and no rain, wind stayed down most of the day and only a few light sprinkles.

The fishing was good with some nice fish on the dock today, salmon fishing for pinks was a little slower than yesterday, but if you stayed at it, you could get as many as you wanted. Some decent Kings also hit the dock and some wonderful halibut.

Pictures of today's catch!

August 4th - Fishing Report

Today was a perfect day...cloudy and overcast with very calm winds and almost no rain, there was a sprinkle late in the afternoon that lasted about 4 minutes...

The fishing was good, not fast and furious, but good. Both salmon fishing and bottom fishing with a nice bunch of good bright pink salmon, a couple chums, but no silvers today. The bottom produced a good assortment of halibut, some beautiful rock fish including some nice yellow eyes...even a 10 plus pounder.

The pictures tell the story!

A special great day at Yes Bay!

August 3rd - Fishing Report

Well, it rained today - all day and at times pretty hard, but for the most part the wind stayed down and it was fairly calm most of the day, we got some tide wind this afternoon, but manageable. The fish bite was better than yesterday with more nice pinks and a few really nice silvers hitting the dock along with a good assortment of rockfish and some halibut.

August 2nd Fishing Report

Rain again today, but not much wind...fishing was tougher today but those who persevered and hung in there got some nice fish. Mostly pinks today although I know of a couple silvers with sore lips but managed to avoid the net...
