Leaving for Alaska soon!

Well, just a little more than a week away from heading North for the summer. I am really looking forward to this coming season and especially my trip up as I will be taking a cruise on Holland America - the MS Ryndam with stops in Juneau, Skagway and Glacier Bay before I get off in Ketchikan on May 13th. Stay tuned to this blog for trip updates and photos!

Homeward Bound

Well, I am sitting in the Tampa Airport, ready to board my flight to Ohio for a weekend visiting family. Just sent an email to a bunch of friends regarding a special “Friends and Family “ rate at the Lodge this summer. So, if you are interested in coming to Alaska this summer, be sure to email me and I will fill you in on the details. Would love to have some people come up and visit this summer.

It promises to be a great summer of fishing with the State calling for record runs of all species of salmon, so I am sure it will be at least as good as last year, with more Kings and tons of Pinks, Chum and silvers. The special rate is only good in late July through the middle of August.

Make plans to join me, we’ll have a blast.

First Post in New Blog

Well it is now early march and I am only about 6 weeks from leaving for my trip up to Alaska. I am scheduled to fly out to Seattle on May 7th, then bus to Vancouver for an overnight. On Friday May 8th, I will board the Holland America Cruise ship Ryndam for my trip up the inside passage. First stop is in Juneau, then Skagway, with a side trip to Haines already booked, then the next day we cruise through Glacier Bay. Then on down to ketchikan where I will disembark and head out to the Lodge. Should be at Yes Bay by the 15th at the latest, maybe as early as the 13th, when I arrive in Ketchikan.

I will be sure to post plenty of pictures when I start my journey and of course throughout the summer.

Thanks

Jim
