The weather stayed real nice with warm temperatures, light winds, calm seas, blue skies and sunshine, however, the fishing slowed down quite a bit. There were still a few salmon around for those who put in the time, including a few silvers, some chum and a couple pinks.
Lodge is slow right now, we are between groups, so there was only 2 boats fishing today, everyone else had the day off.
We have a wonderful beach picnic planned for tomorrow, which is always fun, look for pictures tomorrow. Lots of friends and family around, so time for a little R&R!!
Here are the fish pictures of today's catch!
Another great day of fishing at Yes Bay, where even the slow days are good!!

July 30th - Great Weather - Good Fishing!
It was a beautiful warm and clear day today a little overcast and the wind was fairly light all day, very nice day out on the water! The fishing remains good with plenty of salmon on most boats, including a couple Kings this morning, then some nice pinks, big chum and a few nice sized silvers, maybe the regular run of silvers will start a little early this year.
Captain (Yea Yea) Al Bermitz took a couple of the girls (Crew) fishing today and had a wonderful day of bottom fishing with a couple large yellow eye snappers and a couple very nice Lantern Jaws (Sea Bass)!!
Here are their pictures both on the boat and on the dock!!

A wonderful assortment of salmon hit the dock, with several Kings, some Chum salmon and some nice bright pinks. The bottom fishing is still very good, with some nice halibut and some large rockfish on the dock, including a few nice yellow eye snappers.

July 28th - Beautiful Day and Better Fishing!!
The salmon bite got a little better today, in spite of the clear blue skies, sunshine and warm weather!!
There were even a couple King Salmon caught today along with an assortment of pinks, chum and a few silvers. The bottom fishing remained hot with several real nice yellow eyes and some very nice halibut.
I had the day off today, so Batman and I headed out early this morning to check out a new location for rockfish and halibut, we were successful in finding the spot and although we struck out on the halibut, we landed two really nice yellow eyes and a couple real nice sea bass. We had a good morning of fishing!!
Here are a couple pics from our adventure!!
And now for the guest's catch pictures!!

The salmon bite remained slow today but for those who stuck with it, they were rewarded with some decent fish, a nice assortment of bright picks, chum and a few silvers. The bottom fishing remained strong with a few nice halibut and a good assortment of rockfish, including a real nice sea bass!
The dock crew went out to empty one of the Lodge shrimp pots and was rewarded with a real nice octopus!!

July 26th - Blue Skies, Sunshine and the fishing slows...
Today was a tougher day of fishing for salmon. The sunshine came out and it was a beautiful day, but the salmon bite was OFF! We managed a decent assortment of salmon, some nice bright pinks and a couple chum salmon, but it took all day. So we didn't get a real chance to bottom fish.
Only three guest boats fished today, a couple guides went out and pounded the bottom for a couple nice halibut, one guest boat went off on a picture taking adventure and once boat bragged about the "Big one that got away", sadly had a nice big halibut break off right at the boat...
So, not many pictures today...
Here are Kicker and Batman with their halibuts!

July 25th - Great Weather - Great Fishing!!
What a difference a couple days make, the weather today was perfect for fishing, cool, overcast, no rain and no wind, calm seas!!! And plenty of fish for those who wanted to catch them. Only three boats stayed out all day today and everyone had wonderful catches!! I searched out a new deep spot for some yellow eye snapper and my guest was rewarded with a real nice 8 pounder!! I know there are more there and I will be fishing this spot every time the weather allows as it is in an unprotected open area, but easy to find!!
Here are the pictures from today!!
Oh and just a little note to Dewey (Cutter) the dockmaster...wear a life vest when sockeye fishing in the mouth of the river, especially when the State Troopers are around!!

July 23rd - Miserable Weather - Decent Fishing
Try as she may, old mother nature tried her hardest to put a hex on our fishing today; try hard driving rain (tons of it) wind gusts to 35 mph, rough seas!! But the fish were biting!! A great assortment of salmon hit the dock including a real nice King Salmon a bunch of pink and chum salmon and a couple nice silver salmon. The bottom was also producing with several really nice halibut and a couple rock fish!!
And now today's pictures!!
In spite of the terrible weather today, the fishing was good at Yes Bay Lodge in SE Alaska!
