Yes Bay Lodge Fishing Report - August 13th, 2009

Thursday August 13th, 2009 – Fishing Report

WOW – Batman & Guests hit a Homerun

The fishing today for salmon was a little slower for most boats, although some real nice salmon hit the docks all day today. Several boats worked a couple favorite halibut holes and managed to find a few…but the big guy award goes to Batman and his guests as they arrived at the dock just after lunch with a huge 141.3 pound monster!! Great Job guys (See Photos)

More on this catch later as Batman has promised a story about this little feat on another post with more pictures.

YES BAY Tradition – the guides FIRST halibut over 100 pounds requires the guide to jump in the water (or be thrown in, their choice) (SEE PICS) Batman chose to jump in, see pictures. BTW – We talk about small halibut being called “Chickens”, but as I am looking at the photo of Batman making the plunge into the cold icy Alaska water, his legs remind me of a “small chicken” halibut…what is up with that??

Great job today Batman - You are now officially a member of the YBL Plus 100 club!! Hope you enjoyed the swim!!

Enjoy the pictures,

Capt Jim
