August 15th - Fishing Report

The weather could not have been better today, quite a bit of fog this morning which made for some interesting flight plans for a large group of guests who left bright and early this morning. But it all worked out, the sun came out, the fog lifted and it was a blue sky, bright warm sunny day all day today!

The fishing could have been a little better this morning with only a couple boats fishing. The salmon bite was slow, but everyone only really fished salmon this morning, so there could have been a good afternoon bite like yesterday??

Just one picture today and one story!

The story!

Old Kicker has a couple, Tim & Jody from Washington State and old Tim makes the statement that all he wants to do is fight a big fish, not concerned about taking a ton of fish home. So Kicker takes him to one of his favorite BIG Halibut holes and they start jigging and lo and behold within a short time old Tim hooked onto a 120 plus pound halibut! So a fight is what he got, sadly it did not quite measure the required 68 inches it was a few inches short, but he got the fight he was looking for and will more than likely be sore tomorrow and pictures on their camera and video to relive the tale! And I suppose by the time he is back to Washington State it will have magically gained a few pounds!

Always an Adventure at Yes bay Lodge in SE Alaska!
