Since last fall I have been planning and contemplating the photos to display at the Gallery Showing at Nine Muses in Barberton. As the time grows near I am getting more and more excited to show my work. The opportunity to be recognized for my love of photography by my peers is something very special for me and I can't wait!
I knew from the beginning that it would be expensive to display a large number of prints. After several conversations with friends, I decided that a larger number of small prints would be better from a resale standpoint, this would help keep the prices for the prints down to a reasonable amount. Having to choose which prints to order was an arduous task and being limited by a budget made the task even harder. I also knew that it would be best to choose a print style that was "self-hanging" requiring no frame. Framing expense is even more costly than the prints.
The two labs I work with offer two different styles of frameless prints. I have seen both and like them equally, so I figured a few of each would be best. I started out by ordering 2 Acrylic prints.
Acrylic Prints
Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print. Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic. The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that! The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.
These are the images which are in Acrylic.
They are both stunning images and the acrylic really shows off the colors.
Yes Bay Morning - 12 X 8.63 - $103.00
Fall Colors - 12 X 8.63 - $103.00
After ordering these, I quickly realized I needed a less expensive option for the remainder of the prints. I contacted my second supplier and negotiated a 15% discount on two orders on metal. I have ordered metal prints in the past and love them. They are self hanging and damn near indestructible. They are actually weatherproof and can literally be hung outside. I decided this was the best way to go, the remainder of the images were printed on metal.
Metal Prints
Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall. Metal prints are extremely durable. They're lightweight. They won't bend, and they're water resistant. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

I am very excited to get the opportunity to share my work in my home town with all my old friends. Of course my hope is that all the prints will sell before the end of the show so I can at least break even. If the print you want happens to already have been sold I will be happy to order another specifically for you in any format you wish, you only need to contact me directly. I have been asked by many what is my favorite...well that is awful hard to explain - the Fall Leaves acrylic is a stunning print. New Life is also a wonderful print. The images I am most proud of is Lake McDonald and Mountains on Fire! But all of the prints here are my favorites, and a few have a story behind them which I will be happy to share at the gallery opening - hope to see you there!
The goal is to sell all the prints! I am confident you will be pleased with your selection!
