August 14th - Fantastic Weather and Fantastic Fishing!

Today could only be described as a perfect day. Blue Skies Sunshine and warm, with a nice cool breeze most of the day which made the unusually warm weather bearable. Add in the fact that most boats were able to stay on the salmon bite most of the day and the halibut bite was pretty decent as well!

Kicker and I shared a group from Colorado and they decided that Kicker would make the perfect Garden Gnome for Yes Bay Lodge, so they presented him with his own custom made hat!!

This pretty much describes his function and purpose at Yes Bay!!

Gnome - (in folklore) one of a species of diminutive beings, usually described as shriveled little old men, that inhabit the interior of the earth and act as guardians of its treasures; troll.

Garden Gnome
- A garden gnome or lawn gnome is a figurine of a small humanoid creature, usually wearing a pointy hat, produced for the purpose of ornamentation, typically of gardens or on lawns. These figurines originate in 19th century Germany, where they became known as Gartenzwerg (literally "garden dwarf"). The application of the term gnome in English is first attested in the 1930s.

Now on with the pictures of today's catch!!

And finally Kicker and I's group wanted a group photo of their total catch for the day!!

As you can see a fantastic day of fishing at Yes Bay Lodge in SE Alaska!!
