September 1st - Fishing Report

Weather change again today - went from sunny and calm yesterday to a little rainy and blustery, especially this afternoon. Made for a lumpy ride home, but it didn't affect the fishing much, lots of nice fish hit the dock, some big kings and some nice silvers and a couple nice halibut...

Pictures from today's catch!

It is always a pleasure to have the Jacobsen's here and for those of us who have been here a few years we have watched the boys grow up and it is wonderful to see them become better and better fisherman...today is not exception, they all did well today, but Tom and Will were mooching at Bell Island for some kings and Will played it perfectly, he felt the bite, reeled up fast and when he felt the pressure, he set the hook and knew it was on and yelled for his brother Tom to give him a hand, Snowman watched in awe as the pair worked to land a beautiful 22.7 pound King Salmon a wonderful feat! Something we have watched a few adult good fisherman struggle with, this was a powerful fish and they handled it with ease! Add in a couple small halibut and I would say the boys had a wonderful afternoon of fishing!

The catch of the day was a wonderful 28.9 pound King one of the largest "Feeder" Kings we have seen at the Lodge in years!

Always an Adventure at Yes bay Lodge in SE Alaska!
