Had to go out this evening after dinner and try a few close up shots of the Hummingbirds – they seem to be getting used to me and my camera and the flash does not seem to bother them, so I figured what the heck, let’s see just how close I could get!!
Raining hard and low light so it was a challenge, but several came out very good. There were plenty of birds to choose from, must have been at least 20-30 around most of the time!!

Fantastic photos... would love to see more. Try setting the flash to fire at the "rear", meaning at the end of the exposure, and then use a slow shutter (60 or even slower) to expose the low ambient light areas behind the subject.
